ConcRE_t coffee with Anna Zarudzka
The subject of freedom has been dealt with by some of the world's most distinguished philosophers and philosophers. This issue in the context of business was also taken up by Sylwia Hull-Wosiek together with Anna Zarudzka as part of another episode of ConcRE_t coffee.
There are many approaches to managing companies. One of them is holocracy, which involves , among other things, self-organization of people and teams. In a holocratically managed organization, the aforementioned freedom is an extremely important aspect. It is understood individually by each person and yet it is possible to set its functioning within a certain framework. Speaking of freedom, Ania mentions its three levels: "Freedom is like crossing the street (...) you want to cross and no one tells you how to do it, no policeman stands there and says 'cross, don't cross. Now you." And at this level this freedom is almost unlimited (...) you can go under the car (...) The second freedom is at the social level - people decide, for example, in the neighborhood (about pedestrian crossings). And the third is the level when in the city someone decides something, most often they have been elected (...) and decisions are made."
Although freedom is a need for each person, it can mean something different for each person and to a different extent they can use it. Therefore, tools are important, supporting freedom in an organization. Anne refers us to such tools:

a set of tools that (properly used) can support open communication (a catalyst for transparency, without which autonomy and freedom cannot be true) - https://open.spotify.com/episode/3ZAoR22vGqPjV5TQW1aosY...
meeting tools and structure
An interesting issue is the role of leadership. It turns out that leadership is constantly being discovered and defined. Defining the role of a leader thus is one of the biggest challenges. As our guest speaker puts it: "Leadership in a self-organizing organization is about boundaries wisely placed on oneself and others. Not about control but about building psychological security boundaries for people in a very different way than we are taught in school or college."
