DIFFERENT recommendations #summer2023.
Summer is in full swing, a time for breathing, relaxation, sunshine. It can also be a time to stop, look around you and reflect on the many shades of diversity. We have prepared for you five inspiring recommendations about diversity and accessibility. We encourage you to devote a few warm evenings to them!
- The film "Sound of metal" (directed by Darius Marder) - an electrifying story about a couple whose lives changed with a devastating diagnosis. The story describes the loss of hearing of a gifted drummer in an under-the-radar, unsparingly realistic, even physically tangible way. The film shows not only the struggle for health, but also for relationships and passions. It juxtaposes the characters' previously rumbling lives with a new, unknown world of silence. The film was showered with nominations and awards, and won two Oscars.

- The channel of Kasia Dinst, Expert of the Accessible Design Program Kasia Works. - Kasia's channel, teeming with positive energy, from whom, among other things, you will learn how people with disabilities travel, what Lorm's alphabet is and for whom, who Sawanta is, as well as practical tips on how to organize an accessible event.

- "What you should know about accessibility" interview with Wojtek Kutyla for Design Practice - this interview is a treat for those interested in designing friendly digital services! Wojtek talks about what accessibility is in practice and is it only for people with disabilities? How can it help us all? You will also learn when and how to start caring about digital accessibility and where to look for inspiration. A pill of extremely practical thoughts and observations, not only for developers or UX/UI Designers.

- A humorous talk by Experts of the Available Design Program - Kasia Rząsa, Łukasz Wolff and Krzysztof Kamyk, which will take you even deeper into the topic of digital accessibility - you'll learn why caring about accessibility is a must have for good search engine positioning. What's more, Lukasz and Krzysztof will juxtapose the hits and myths of creating digitally accessible sites or materials, including: does accessibility spoil design, is it expensive to provide it, or do only programmers need to keep it in mind?
- Podcast "Wheel-Chair-Trip" - An inspiring BLACK HAT ULTRA interview with Michal Woroch, traveler, photographer and author of the book "Step by Step." Michal has traveled to India, Mongolia, the Himalayas and Spitsbergen, among other places. He is recognized as one of the 100 most influential Poles with disabilities. Listen to the story of an extraordinary journey of more than a year across the Americas, from the Land of Fire to Alaska, experienced by wheelchair-bound Michal Woroch and Maciej Kaminski. You will learn about the preparation and customization of the Landrover Defender, how the travelers coped with illness, what they did when the car got stuck in the mud, ran out of road or the engine broke down, and what unusual places and people they met on their way.
