We invite you to an extraordinary journey into the life and work of Kora, one of the most charismatic and controversial figures of the Polish music scene. The performance "Kora. Divine" is a moving story about an artist who changed the face of Polish rock forever.
About the show:
Kora after death stands at the gates of heaven, where the Three Marys are waiting for her: Our Lady of Czestochowa, Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Placed before the grotesque Last Judgment, Kora returns in songs and confessions to earthly memories. The show is a story about a woman, an artist, a daughter and a mother, about Poland, religion, the system and illness; it is a fairy tale of love, longing, impotence and grief.
The three Marys symbolize three different attitudes and three different spheres of life:
Our Lady of Czestochowa (Faith:) Church, Poland, politics, system.
Our Lady of Fatima (Hope): Naivety, purity, child and longing.
Our Lady of Guadalupe (Love): True free love, music, madness and Indian trance.
The show will feature Maanam's greatest hits sung by Katarzyna Chlebny.
